Vicarious Resilience

COMING SOON

Attending to the potential impacts, both positive and negative, of first responders, clinical practitioners or caregivers work with trauma survivors is a crucial aspect of trauma informed practice. Vicarious resilience refers to unique, positive effects that transform first responders, practitioners and caregivers in response to witnessing trauma survivors’ encounters, resilience and recovery process.

We are excited to offer our Building Vicarious Resilience program-COMING SOON!

Caregiver burnout, compassion fatigue (CF), secondary trauma(ST), and vicarious trauma(VT) are all too common experiences when a person is feeling overwhelmed, overexposed, and exhausted while working or living in a caregiving environment.

Awareness is a key factor in vicarious resilience, when we know such experiences exist we are more likely to recognize and benefit from them. Vicarious resilience specifically recognizes the value of observing resilience in our experience and those we help. This is not only noticing the positive dimensions of our work, it is also bearing witness to the reliance of those we work with or support, but most importantly, our own lives, dealing with our own adversities and losses.

Our program is comprised of 5 therapeutic sessions focused on providing a safe and supportive environment to express oneself while learning tools and strategies to reduce symptoms of burnout,CF,ST, and VT. While building vicarious resilience.

Our program is for first responders, helping professionals, and caregivers.
Sessions available online or In-Office
