Trauma Informed Leadership
This offers a brief overview of Trauma Informed Care for those who play a leadership, navigation, or educational role. We will be looking at the foundations of trauma, vicarious trauma and self-care while also integrating self-care breaks throughout these topics and closing with time for any questions and discussion.
This training does not offer trauma informed practices or trauma specific services.

A PDF guidebook will be included for each participant, this includes reflective questions, reminders, and further insight to sustaining a trauma aware culture.

This training introduces practitioners participating in the “train the trainer” style learning for both onboarding of new individuals and guiding existing individuals.

This is a 15 hr training, this training takes place in a 2-day format (7.5hr/day) and can be delivered online, in person or hybrid [online and in person],this is supported by three facilitators and has a capacity of 8.

- Introduction to Trauma Screening and Trauma Specific Services
- Vicarious Trauma, Secondary Trauma Stress, Countertransference, Racial Biases, PTSD, Post Traumatic Growth and Compassion Fatigue Resilience
- An understanding of Adverse Childhood Experiences and it’s prevalence to chronic illness and disorders
- The impact of colonization related to historical trauma, intergenerational transmission of trauma and a recent framework related to residential school syndrome in a specific setting
- The impact of enslavement related to historical trauma, intergenerational transmission of racial trauma and a recent assessment framework related to racial traumatic syndrome in a specific setting
- Trauma-informed care (TIC) practices
- Philosophy of Trauma-Specific Services
- Trauma-Specific Services in Practice
- Risks associated with TIC: Vicarious Trauma (VT) and Secondary Trauma Stress (STS)

It is encouraged that the organization integrates trauma-informed care within all areas of functioning (policies, procedures and practices), in order to maintain the efficiency of the certification. Certification requires renewal every five (5) years.

The majority of brain development occurs before a child turns three years old. Early experiences have a profound effect on brain architecture and traumatic experiences may disrupt this development.

Racial informed clinical practices
This training is to help clinicians and other healthcare professionals to integrate a racially informed lens to their existing practices. Looking at racial trauma, while also taking into consideration the lens of the historical, intergenerational, and also, what’s happening in the present.
For some, you may be representing yourself as a racialized person, or perhaps you want to learn more how to support your communities or the role you play as a healthcare practitioner/professional.
This training will create a space for you to begin your own reflection and healing of what racial trauma and racial informed practices mean for you, while learning how to respond to people of different cultures and ethnicities.
Learning outcomes:
This is a day's training and has a capacity of 30 with three (3) facilitators.
